When arriving at our office, you will be warmly welcomed and made to feel at home. If you’ve already completed your admitting paperwork, great! If not, after doing so you’ll then meet Dr. Houtz.

We will perform a consultation and history, and will discuss your health goals and see if chiropractic is likely to help you. If it looks promising, a thorough examination will help us determine the state of your spine and nervous system.

For the initial part of our painless and non-invasive spinal exam, we will perform a rolling thermal scan that will detect subtle skin temperature differences along the spine, assessing nerve function. Our computer will then measure muscle tension along the spine.

If we feel that x-rays would be appropriate, we are able to perform them on site at our McVeytown office.

After reviewing the exam results, a gentle chiropractic adjustment may then be performed. Educational materials about chiropractic will also be provided for you.

The first visit often takes about an hour.
